This beginners level course is geared towards small business owners who are ready to start using the cloud-based, QuickBooks Online. No previous QuickBooks experience is necessary, but is helpful. A basic understanding of small business bookkeeping is very important, as this course does not cover the fundamentals of business bookkeeping.
Attendees will receive a training manual, "Master Intuit QuickBooks Online: From Set-Up to Tax Time."
This course will cover the following topics: The importance of good record keeping Setting up QuickBooks - How to create and manage a company file. Creating your Items list - creating products, creating services and inventory. Working with Customers- creating estimates creating invoices and receiving payments. Working with Vendors - creating expenses, writing checks, paying bills. Bank feeds - linking bank accounts to QBO and managing the bank feed. Reconciling - ensuring QBO matches your bank statements. Reports - creating financial reports such as profit & loss statements and balance sheets. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop to follow along, but it is not required. If you plan to bring a laptop, please arrive 10 minute early to ensure internet connectivity . This course teaches you how to use the software, but we will not create your individual company file in class. We will be using a sample file for training purposes. This introductory course does not cover advanced topics including: payroll, integrating apps, point of sale systems, etc. This course does not include a software subscription

Alaska Beauty Peony Cooperative
This session will cover topics new growers need to know to become successful peony farmers. Presentation will cover where to get started with planning a peony farm, site selection, soil testing & preparation, equipment needs, varieties, buying roots, planting roots, caring for your plants and planning for harvest.

Rita Jo will present what peony growers need to know to continue to develop their farm successfully after the first year. Topics include continued field care and development, information on commercial root stock and variety choices, cutting for sales, grading stems, chilling needs and selling to a pack house.
Sunday Post Conference Session - 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Certified American Grown Floral Design Work Shop
This Certified American Grown Flowers design class is from 10:00am to 1:00pm and is limited to 24 attendees.
During this three-hour workshop, our designer will guide participants through the basics of cut flower care, and selecting color palates and blooms. Everyone will work with beautiful, farm fresh American Grown flowers to create a stunning and lush centerpiece that is theirs to keep. While peonies won't be available in January, we'll talk about incorporating these Alaskan beauties into our summer arrangements. All flowers and materials will be provided, thanks to Certified American Grown, Syndicate Sales and Corona.
